Remove tracking from links
Paste a link or a whole message. Tracking parameters and redirect wrappers come out; everything else stays as it was.

What it removes
Links you copy carry extra parameters that tell the site, and often an ad network, where you came from and who shared the link. They do nothing for the page itself. url-sanitize removes them with the rules maintained by ClearURLs, Brave and Firefox, about 1,450 in all:
-
Campaign tags on any site:
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaignand the rest ofutm_*. -
Ad click IDs: Facebook's
fbclid, Google'sgclid,gbraidandwbraid, Microsoft'smsclkid, Mailchimp'smc_eid, HubSpot's_hsenc. -
Share IDs that tie a link to the person who shared it: YouTube and
Spotify
si, Instagramigsh, Xsandt, TikTok_t, Redditshare_id. -
Shop tracking: Amazon's
/ref=…path andpd_rd_*, eBay's_trksid, AliExpress'sspm. - Redirect wrappers: Google, Facebook and YouTube links that bounce through a tracking page are replaced by the page they point to.
Affiliate tags such as Amazon's tag stay unless you tick the option above,
since removing them takes money from whoever shared the link.

The same rules ship as an npm library, a Rust crate, a native CLI and a Python package. See the README for every install path.
